So the word is : Gamophobia.
The fear of marriage.
Now i have the reason.
From a certain period of my life, i saw the behavior of some human being who's not really in line with my set of norms. World has evolved, my friends said. There's no such thing as our parents' love.
So, our parents set that standard. Or so i said, my parents has gave me the highest standard a couple could be. I read this very inspiring article : 'According to "attachment theory", how you are raised leaves a lasting impression on how trusting you you are in intimate relationships. Study has prove that in a nutshell, people whose parents were warm and loving and reliable sources of emotional support tend to be "securely" attached'.
and this is shockingly true (well at least for me, i always say this to my friend), as they will report in the journal of Psychological Science, securely attached people were -as predicted- much more upset about emotional infidelity than sexual infidelity.
77% said they are much more likely to find emotional infidelity more upsetting than sexual infidelity.
And so did my ex boss said : "I don't really care about men having a secret window shopping in some red light district, as long as they don't have any secret love and mistress"
at first, as a naive 22 y.o new kid on the block, what i thought was : "that's stupid, i don't want both things happen"
now, after all that experience, i have to agree with that (not so) stupid statement (though, i have to knock on the wood, i don't want this happen to me, and my circle of friends).
Don't afraid of get married, my friend said.
P.S: The cruelest lies are often told in silence. (Robert Louis Stevenson)
